Speaking on behalf of the opposition at his Karen home, Kalonzo said that Jubilee has a scheme to rig the next general elections.

The opposition has expressed lack of confidence in the register of the electoral body and threatened to take action if nothing happens.

Politicians from the opposition have said that the anomalies witnessed during the verification of voter registration cannot be taken lying low.

“IEBC is ill-informed about how rotten the voter register is and that’s why it suspended the SMS application. The inflated numbers in the voter register is a direct indictment of the commission,” he said, as quoted by the Standard.

The former vice president faulted the commission of rushing to suspend the SMS verification after detecting anomalies.

He asked the electoral to seek for help from internationally recognized audit firms to ensure fairness in the August elections.

“This is why it is important to conduct a forensic audit with a firm with a known track record. The commission must ensure Kenyans that it is ready to conduct credible polls by cleaning the voter register as stipulated in the Election Laws 2016,” Kalonzo added.

The Ukambani political kingpin further said that there is need for the commission to address the concerns of the opposition.
