Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that the opposition will not accept defeat unless the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) conducts free and fair elections.
Speaking during an opposition rally at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi, Kalonzo affirmed that the leaders of the opposition will not tolerate any case of rigging when that time comes.
"This time we mean business. We are in a contest where we shall accept nothing less than a free, fair election," he said, as quoted by Star.
According to Kalonzo Kenyans have nothing to smile about whenever they hear about the current leadership and this is time for change.
"The true change that has evaded the country is now here. This change calls for extreme sacrifice," he posed.
The opposition has expressed displeasure following the passing of disputed elections laws. Led by the former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, opposition leaders wanted IEBC to use electronic voter identification system as opposed to the manual in a bid to curb rigging. Kalonzo’s sentiments come at a time when opposition leaders are looking for the best way to dethrone President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto from power.
The Ukambani leader has assured Kenyans that the opposition will not sit back and watch elections rigged.
