Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Monday revealed why he keeps mum to political criticism.-
The soft spoken Kamba leader said since his childhood, he has liked the Stephen Character in the Holy Bible being the reason he chose his Stephen name.
"I have always loved the Stephen's character in the Bible. When I was in form two, I chose that name during baptism," Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo said just like the Stephen character in the Bible, he turns a deaf ear to castigators, mockers and those who abuse him.
He said a lot of people take advantage of his character to brand him uncouth names.
"And that's why even if I'm called melon, coward, weakling I don't fight back. You can bear me witness," Kalonzo said.
He stated that that's the main reason he has been advocating for peace since he joined politics.
"Even the dialogue between UhuRaila, I gave it an OK since all I have been singing about is dialogue dialogue dialogue and since it happened it's an answered prayer," Kalonzo added.
Kalonzo spoke at the Kamba Leaders Unity Forum in Matungulu, Machakos County on Monday.
The meeting endorsed Kalonzo's 2022 presidential bid.
It gave the former Vice President a nod to meet and hold talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto just the way NASA leader Raila Odinga did.
Last month, Kalonzo while in Machakos had hinted that he will meet president Uhuru Kenyatta after jetting back from Cuba, a meeting that never happened for unknown reasons.
