The political class are on a charm offensive to cement their bedrocks ahead of the August polls with NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka exuding confidence that the new political outfit will unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at Kinango in Kwale County, the Wiper Party leader said the entry of Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi into the fold has boosted their numerical advantage ahead of the August contest."We have sealed all loopholes that will facilitate rigging unlike in the 2013 elections where dead voters were allowed to vote thereby gifting Jubilee Party undeserved victory," said Kalonzo. The former Vice President welcomed the court ruling on final presidential votes to be declared at the constituency level which he says will prevent rigging of elections. With NASA's plan to have a parallel tallying centre eliciting mixed reactions, the Wiper boss dismissed claims that the move is meant to cause violence, arguing it will instead ensure credibility of the poll results.Dismissing the claims that he is planning to bolt out of NASA amid the thorny issue of the coalition's choice of flag bearer, Kalonzo said he is in the coalition to stay and vowed to fight for the ticket from within.
