Kandara MP, Alice Wahome has welcomed the Cord co-principal to the government’s side.

She claimed that Kalonzo will hardly be the Cord’s flag bearer in the 2017 general elections.

“Kalonzo should join government fast instead of waiting. Speaker’s seat will be reserved for him,” said Wahome.

Speaking in Nyeri, Wahome said Jubilee MPs were in a mission to poach opposition politicians in order to increase President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election chances.

She cited MPs Helen Sambili (Mogotio) and Regina Ndambuki (Kilome), who had accompanied her, as some of the politicians defecting from Cord.

Wahome further said that the disgruntled Cord MPs from Western Kenya should join the Jubilee coalition ‘where there is more democratic space.’

Ndambuki explained that she defected from her Wiper Party, which sponsored her to Parliament, in order to get infrastructural development projects for her constituents.

“Since I started supporting Jubilee, three roads are under construction in my area. And my people are supporting me,” she claimed.
