Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo has said Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid is unstoppable.
Maanzo says the former Vice President will be on the ballot whether he is endorsed by NASA leader Raila Odinga or not.
In an interview on Citizen TV’s Power Breakfast show on Monday, Maanzo said Kalonzo’s 2022 bid will be a do or die battle, adding that it is time for the Kamba community to ascended to power.
The Wiper MP said the party was strategizing to ensure Kalonzo is on the ballot.
‘‘Kalonzo’s 2022 bid is unstoppable and we are determined to make sure he wins the presidential election,’’ Maanzo said.
The Wiper MP said Kalonzo has been patient enough asserting it is time Raila Odinga supported him unconditionally.
‘‘We have been loyal to Raila and the only thing he can do now is to endorse and approve Kalonzo’s 2022 bid,’’ he added.
He said they will not accept to be shortchanged.
Maanzo noted Kalonzo has the political experience to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
He asked the Kamba community and Kenyans at large to support Kalonzo when the time comes.
Kalonzo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Raila Odinga that is to see him fly the NASA ticket in 2022.
There are, however, claims that Raila might trash the agreement after he failed to clinch the presidential seat in 2017.
Political analysts argue that Raila could decide to contest again in 2022 on his ODM party banner.
A section of Kamba politicians have been urging Kalonzo to ditch NASA if he wants to revive his career and keep 2022 presidential ambitions alive.
The former Vice President, however , insists that he is in NASA to stay even as claims of cracks in the coalition continue to emerge.
