Acting Wiper Party Secretary General Robert Mbui has dismissed media reports that NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka is plotting a comeback to the National Assembly.

Speaking on Wednesday, Mbui observed that the former Vice President is not power-hungry, adding that Kalonzo's focus is now on his 2022 presidential bid.

“That is propaganda, Kalonzo is not interested in coming to Parliament, he has set his eye on preparing to run for President in the 2022 general election,” the Kathiani lawmaker said.

It is believed that Mwingi North MP Musyimi Nzengu's decision to apply for the East African Legislative Assembly position is meant to create space for Kalonzo.

Should the lawmaker get the East Africa job, he will have to relinquish his current position as MP, thereby paving way for a by-election.

It is at this point Kalonzo is said to be considering to vie for the parliamentary seat, a scheme that could see him make a grand return to Parliament.

Kalonzo was Member of Parliament in the constituency for 28 years.
