Wiper Party leaders have condemned the attack on Kathiani MP Robert Mbui.
According to The Star, the leaders said that the attack on the lawmaker was an attempt to finish him.
The lawmaker was left with a broken leg following an engagement between police and supporters of the National Super Alliance (NASA).
In a statement, executive director Jared Siso pointed an accusing finger at the Jubilee administration for using excessive force in dispersing the supporters.
"The violence which led to deaths of more than five Kenyans, occasioned severe injuries on others and led to wanton destruction of property, could have been avoided had the regime cared to follow the law as well as the dictates of the Constitution," he said on Saturday, as quoted by The Star.
He also claimed that then attack on the lawmaker is a clear plot by the current regime to finish leaders backing the election of Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, who jetted into the country on Friday.
The opposition leader has condemned the attack on his supporters, terming it a scheme to silence the majority.
The opposition has maintained that he will not back down in the push for another election.
