Wiper Party deputy secretary general Peter Mathuki has defended Kalonzo Musyoka over claims that he is not committed to being sworn in as the People’s Deputy President.

Mathuki said Kalonzo is committed to the oath contrary to media reports.

The former East Africa Legislative Assembly MP accused the media of speculating on Kalonzo’s swearing in.

“As far as we are concerned, our leader Kalonzo Musyoka is 100 per cent committed to being sworn in as the People’s Deputy President,” Mathuki told journalists at the Machakos Law Courts on Friday.

Mathuki said continued media attacks against the former Vice President are meant to tarnish his reputation.

“I think the media should be objective and stop running unconfirmed reports on Kalonzo,” he added.

Mathuki refuted claims that Wiper could bold out of NASA.

He said the Kalonzo Musyoka led party had an agreement with NASA and claims of them bolting out are misleading.

Mathuki also refuted claims of cracks in NASA.

He said the principals are engaging in consultations and will be making statements on way forward in regards to the alliance key activities among them electoral reforms agenda.

Kalonzo has been under criticism with claims that he is not committed to being sworn in as the people’s deputy president.

The former Vice President skipped Raila’s inauguration on January 30 at Uhuru Park.
