Malombe says that he presented a strong petition and is sure the court will nullify Ngilu's election.

In an interview with a local daily on Thursday, Malombe urged his supporters to remain calm.

High court Judge Pauline Nyamweya will deliver the verdict on the petition today at the Milimani Law Courts.

Malombe challenged Ngilu’s victory citing massive irregularities in the election process.

The former Wiper Party governor in the petition accused Ngilu of allegedly bribing voters before and during the polling day.

Ngilu, through lawyer Kioko Kilukumi, however, dismissed Malombe's petition, stating that she won fairly and that her election reflected the wish of Kitui people.

The former Lands Cabinet Secretary was declared the winner of the Kitui gubernatorial election garnering 169,990 votes against Malombe’s 74,681 votes.
