The Wiper party has been robbed a strong candidate from Mombasa and the victim is blaming party patron Kalonzo Musyoka for his decision to quit Wiper. The Mombasa gubernatorial hopeful and Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has said open betrayal by Musyoka forced him out of Wiper.Awiti said that the party top management had promised nominations that could see him compete with Senator Omar Hassan for the Mombasa top seat but there was change of plans without his consent. The MP believes that there was something fishy behind the cancellation of nominations. He was speaking in Mombasa at Wild Waters Entertainment Park.“We held talks for several hours before the agreement was reached. But when it came to holding the delegates' meeting, Kalonzo betrayed me,” Awiti said.“When I asked what the problem was, I was told we were going to negotiate. Later, Omar was endorsed by some people and I said enough is enough and walked out,” he added.The party national treasurer has joined the Vibrant Democratic party. He will use this ticket to out the incumbent Governor Hassan Joho and face other competitors. Jubilee has fronted Suleiman Shahbal while Wiper will field its Secretary General Senator Omar Hassan.
