Kalonzo’s camp breaks silence on forming an alliance with Moi. The Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM-K) has dismissed claims of planning to form an alliance with Kenya National African Union (KANU) leader Gideon Moi ahead of 2022.
Speaking to a local daily, Wiper Secretary General Peter Mathuki said that the party has no intentions of working with the Baringo senator before that time comes.
He dismissed claims by Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket of a looming alliance."That is his own thinking. We are not talking to individuals, we are talking about an all-inclusive outreach to Kenyans in every part of this country," he stated.
The remarks of the lawmakers come a few days after Moi met Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho as political alignments loom. Mathuki also said that Former Wavinya Ndeti won the last General elections, adding that Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua should prepare for a by-election instead of running up and down spreading propaganda.
"I can tell you for free, Wiper won that election. I would tell him not to go to the Supreme Court, let him come and face the people," Mathuki stated.
Both Kalonzo and Moi have already declared an interest in the nation’s top seat. The decision of the two will determine the next head of state.
