Former Lamu Woman Representative Shakila Abdalla has urged Lamu MCAs to adopt the People’s assembly being fronted by NASA once it’s tabled in the county assembly.
Shakila says that the people’s assembly is crucial in the push for electoral reforms in the country.
Speaking to journalists at Lamu Town on Wednesday, the Wiper party deputy leader said that reforms will only be realized through the people.
“The people’s assembly is the only hope for good governance, fairness and justice,” the Wiper Party leader said on Wednesday.
Shakila said that the county is a NASA zone exuding confidence that MCAs will adopt the motion.
The Wiper deputy leader said that NASA will not tire in the quest for electoral justice. “We are ready to do everything within the constitution to ensure that Kenyans electoral rights ate protected,” she added.
NASA is pushing for the creation of people’s assembly across the country in efforts to force for fresh presidential election.
The opposition claims that the October 26 repeat poll that declared Uhuru Kenyatta as president-elect was shambolic.
Already, some pro-NASA counties have adopted the people’s assembly motion.
