Allow me to talk about football. Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is like a good coach without players.
Kalonzo has a nightmare of outshining other opposition principals to succeed Raila after his political outfit Wiper performed dismally.Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musila Mudavadi, Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula and Chama Cha Mashinani Leader Isaac Ruto are all scouting to take over Raila.
A few months ago, Kalonzo said that the principals will take into account the number of seats each affiliated party has delivered before deciding who will succeed Raila.
As things stand, Kalonzo is likely to be left in the cold when it comes to the naming of the opposition’s flag bearer. As much as he put up a spirited fight in the contest to make Raila president.
One of the things that Kalonzo will leave to rig is failing to consider complains launched by nomination losers. Wiper is among the parties that has continued to lose members to other political outfits because of nominations and other issues.
Kalonzo needs to go back to the drawing board to determine where the rain started beating him before he makes his next move in the political arena lest he heads to political oblivion.
