On Sunday, Kibwana was quoted asking Kalonzo to tame some politicians in the Wiper Party if he wants to successfully bid for 2022 top seat.

Kibwana accused some Wiper politicians of ‘killing’ Kalonzo’s 2022 bid.

He claimed that some of Kalonzo’s allies have been openly hurling insults at some leaders who are supporting Kalonzo’s 2022 bid.

Kibwana who was visibly angry said that they cannot continue to take insults for declaring support for Kalonzo.

He said that leaders who folded their parties to join Kalonzo’s Wiper party are being disrespected.

Kibwana folded his Muungano party in the run-up to last year’s polls to join Wiper.

He is among Kamba top politicians who are pushing for Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.

According to political science lecturer at Machakos University Benjamin  Mutiso, Kalonzo is likely to suffer if Kibwana abandons him.

He argues that Kibwana’s political experience and skills in resource and people mobilization is what Kalonzo needs ahead of 2022.

“Kalonzo must tame his politician's and work on strategies to bringing them together if he really wants to be president,” he said on Wednesday.

Mutiso warns that some of Kalonzo’s perceived allies are likely to spoil for him ahead of 2022.
