[Photo|Kalonzo Musyoka]Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka left a condolence message after failing to attend the burial ceremony of Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze.Kalonzo who was to jet in from Germany on Tuesday, failed to do so over undisclosed reasons. He was to attend the funeral service in Kitui on the same day. Below is his message."Germany; 19th Dec 2017 FARE THEE WELL HON. FRANCIS MWANZIA NYENZE, MP KITUI WESTIt was with great shock and sadness that I learnt of the demise of Hon. Francis Mwanzia Nyenze, the Member of Parliament for Kitui West.Indeed, in the departure of Hon. Nyenze, the Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya fraternity in particular, and Kenyans in general, lost a great leaderAs Leader of Minority in the 11th Parliament, Hon. Nyenze served the country with great commitment and dedication. His non-confrontational, gentlemanly mien was a great asset in helping to build bridges among political antagonists.Additionally, Hon. Nyenze was an outspoken and candid politician who never shied away from articulating his political convictions. In Kitui West where he was immensely popular, he was nicknamed, "Shabiki" (Fan), a term coined from the early years of his political career when he used to mobilize his political supporters particularly the youth using "Shabiki" as his rallying call.Hon. Nyenze was ever committed to the welfare of his constituents. Being elected MP three times in a constituency like Kitui West that has always boasted of being home to political titans was no mean feat for him. Indeed, it was a real mark of his charisma and political prowess that few other politicians could brag about. At the party level, Hon. Nyenze was a staunch Wiper supporter. He was ever committed to the ideals of the Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya, and a strong defender of party’s interests too.In the passing of Francis, I, too, have personally been dealt a big blow since he was also great family friend. Hon. Nyenze had a strong conviction that he should live to see me ascend to the top of the Nation’s leadership. Quite sadly, though, he died without seeing his dream come true. But our God is a Great God, and Hon. Nyenze’s wishes may just be granted in the very near future! At this most trying time and as we now bid farewell to Hon. Nyenze, may the Almighty God grant to his family and relatives, friends, the Wiper fraternity and the entire nation, the fortitude to bear the pain of this great loss."
