Opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka has come out to defend himself against vicious attacks mounted by bloggers and disappointed NASA supporters after he failed to turn up for a swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park.
In a call to a local media station, the former vice-president called on the bloggers to stop sending out untruths about his absence from the high-profile affair at Uhuru Park.
''I would like to ask those involved with social media to stop sending out wrong messages. I was absent from the swearing-in ceremony due to circumstances that were beyond my control. My security was withdrawn here in Karen and in Seikuru,'' Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo defence comes amid disappointment and unhappiness with his absence at Uhuru Park yesterday.
Speaking at Uhuru Park after taking an oath, Raila said that the absence of the other NASA principals was triggered by ''some things that happened''.
Kalonzo faces a rather herculean task of trying to find favour with the opposition rank and file.
