The opposition's NASA coalition leadership and delegation arrived in Homa Bay county on Saturday January 27, for the People's Assembly convention, Nyanza chapter.

Led by Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and host Governor Cyprian Awiti, several opposition leaders also arrived in Homa Bay town for the convention ahead of the controversial swearing-in ceremony on January 30.

Musyoka took a swipe at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) after it dismissed an alleged data that NASA obtained from the commission's servers following the invalidated August 8, 2017 general elections.

NASA leaders led by James Orengo, released the data at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi on Friday revealing that Odinga won the Presidential elections, beating Uhuru Kenyatta.

However, IEBC through vice chairperson Consolata Maina in a quick rejoinder dismissed the data, saying:

"The presentation by NASA totally misleads the public on the results pathway, the servers, information on the public portal and the forms used to declare results. We can only conclude that this is a deliberate effort to create a non-existent reality about the elections of 2017."

During the convention at the Homa Bay Stadium, Musyoka demanded that IEBC Commissioners led by Maina ought to have resigned after declaring Uhuru winner of the August elections unconstitutionally.

"By now these people should've resigned. I saw one Consolata Maina responding to the data report yet they know so well the election was rigged. We can not continue having IEBC as currently constituted," said Musyoka.

The coalition has been demanding for the resignation of the commissioners and part of IEBC secretariat saying it is controlled by the Executive.
