Wiper Democratic Party (WDM) leader Kalonzo Musyoka now wants opposition supremo Raila Odinga to intervene in solving Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's woes.
Speaking in Kitui West constituency in Kitui county on Monday, the National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal stressed on the need for Wetangula's retention as the Senate Minority Leader.
Odinga's Orange Democratic Party (ODM) Senators have since used their numerical strength in the house to pass an ouster motion against the Ford Kenya party leader despite his post as a NASA top co-chief.
Musyoka took issue with ODM's plan to take over the seat, replacing Wetangula with his deputy and Siaya Senator James Orengo, terming it as unfair.
"Raila should talk his Senators out of unseating Wetangula. It is wrong for ODM to take over the seat allocated to Ford Kenya," he said.
He said that Wetangula's status as the only co-principal holding an elective position should guarantee him some privileges, in this case being holding the seat.
"Wetangula is the only one among us as NASA leaders holding an elective post and should, therefore, be entrusted with the minority leader seat as he remains our only representative in the house," he added.
The Deputy Minority Leader slot is set to be allocated to either Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina or his Kakamega counterpart Cleopa Malala.
