(Photo/nation.co.ke)Former Vice President Kalonzo Mysyoka's Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party has made key changes to its leadership in preparation for the 2022 general election.The party has filled vacant positions that were left by politicians who resigned and decamped to other parties.According to the party organising Secretary, Robert Mbui, the party has appointed Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana as the new acting party chairman.Kibwana replaces former Kitui senator David Musila who quit the party before the August 8 general election.In an interview with the Star on Wednesday , Mbui said that the party has appointed former nominated senator Judith Sijeny as the acting Seceraty General.Sijeny replaces former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar who resigned and joined president Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party after unsuccessfully contesting for the Mombasa governor seat in the August 8 polls.Mbui said that the changes is part of the party's strategy to prepare for the 2022 general election.He said that the party will hold a national delegate conference once its leader Kalonzo Musyoka jets back from Germany where he is attending to his ailing wife."We plan to hold a delegates conferenc to discuss key issues among the permanent appoinmts to positions that were left vacant," he said.Kalonzo is aligning himself for the 2022 NASA ticket according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) he signed with NASA affiliate parties.Wiper politicians have vowed to push for Kalonzo's candidature in 2022  even as claims emerge  that NASA leader Raila Odinga might fail not to honor the MoU after he failed to win the presidential election.A section of Kamba politicians have been asking Kalonzo to ditch NASA if he wants to revive his political career.
