The two leaders were asked to appear for the crisis meeting after a ruling made by High Court. Kalonzo’s party was founded to have gone against the constitution after failing to conduct nominations in the area despite both the candidate expressing interest in the seat as we head to the next general polls.
Makau took the matter to the court where he sought for justice. Wiper party national elections board chairperson, Agatha Solitei told the press that the political outfit had directed to two leaders to appear before the team before the matter could be resolved.
“We summoned the two, Honorable Stephen Mule and the appellant Peter Makau to attend a meeting of the National Elections Board and we shall re-evaluate their applications and take both of them through a vetting process and based on that we shall be able to make a decision on who to give the nomination ticket,” she said.
Meanwhile, Wiper has been given an ultimatum to issue a direct ticket to any of its candidate to contest for the Machakos Governorship.
