A close friend of the fallen democracy hero, Joseph Kibe, shamed those who were pretending to mourn Matiba and praise his fight for a liberal Kenya yet they were the crafters of his detention.

Kibe mentioned the Wiper Democratic Movement party leader and others who pushed for the arrest and subsequent torture of the late Matiba while in detention.

He said Kalonzo was the man who moved two anti-Matiba motions in August, a month after Matiba was detained.

Retired President Mwai Kibaki who was deputized by Musyoka during his last presidential term was also shamed by Kibe.

Others mentioned included Francis Ole Kaparo, John Keen, George Muhoho, the late George Saitoti, Phillip Leaky, Joseph Kamotho, Nicholas Biwott, Bob Francis Jalang’o, Dr. Godana, Zachary Onyanka and David Mwenje.

Kibe said these leaders ganged up against the late Matiba because they feared he could change how Kenya was being governed.

“They were so horrified, they thought Matiba would change the management of this country,” Kibe said.

This comes after several Kenyans criticized a section of leaders who went to condole Matiba’s family and praised his effort in liberating Kenya from the KANU regime yet they were Moi’s lieutenants.
