Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka now wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to expedite unity and reconciliation talks.
Kalonzo says that there is no time to waste and that President Kenyatta should tell Kenyans what next after his famous handshake with the opposition leader Raila Odinga a month ago.
According to Kalonzo, the delay in rolling out unity and reconciliation is making Kenyans to doubt the famous handshake.
In an interview with a local daily on Sunday, Kalonzo said that ongoing 2022 succession debates is likely to undermine the unity and reconciliation process.
He added that delaying the unity push is only escalating division's among Kenyans ahead of the 2022 general election's.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta must move fast and ensure that the country is united and peaceful before 2022," he said as quoated by a local daily.
The former Vice President warned the president and the former prime minister against personalizing the unity process.
He maintained that all leaders and stakeholders have to be involved in the process.
Kalonzo said that it will be a waste of time if Uhuru and Raila only engages few people in the unity talks.
He also asked Uhuru to give electoral reforms and justice key priority in the unity process.
Kalonzo said that nothing will be achieved in terms of unity and reconciliation if there are no reforms in the country.
A section of politician's have been raising concerns to why President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have delayed the process of unifying Kenyans a month after their famous handshake.
Some politicians allied to opposition have been asking Raila to denounce the handshake claiming that it was not genuine especially after the second deportation of Canadian based lawyer Migina Miguna.
However, sources say that the unity process will take shape soon as team's engaged in implementing the strategies to be used is finalizing on it's work.
