A phone call from Germany by Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka to Raila Odinga literally led to postponement of swearing-in that was to take place on Tuesday, claims  source within ODM party.

Already, steering committee under Noah Akala had settled on Mombasa's Tononoka as the venue to the ceremony that was widely criticized by Western envoys.

"We had settled on Mombasa following it's immediate response to our request. Raila called us and said the announcement would be made by principals," said Oduor Ongwen.

Moments later, Musalia Mudavadi would emerge with a speech in which he said the colaition would hold the ceremony at a later date.

But according to the source who spoke in confidence, Musyoka was against oath taking on grounds that it would lead to chaos in the country.

"Kalonzo called Raila to express his displeasure on swearing-in. Later, Musalia and Moses Wetangula backed Kalonzo's stand. They all prefer a moderate approach," he said.

He further said: "Raila was not impressed and that is why he was non committal during a meting by envoys and clergy in his office. But Kalonzo is behind the postponement."

On the contrary, a statement by Salim Lone claimed that NASA postponed teh ceremony due to continued absence of Kalonzo, who is attending to his sick wife in Germany.

With many supporters expressing their anger on the announcement, coalition strategist Miguna Miguna has since disowned the postponement adding that NRM will swear-in Raila.

ODM Director Oduor Ongwen, in response to claims wrote in Kenya Forum WhatsApp Group: "There is nothing wrong with principals calling each other."
