Homabay Town MP Peter Kaluma wants the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to reveal the individual scores of the candidates who were interviewed for the Chief Justice (CJ) position.
The MP who spoke on Citizen TV's breakfast show on Friday morning said that Kenyans deserve to know how each of the candidates interviewed for post did.
Kaluma said that for fairness and transparency purposes the JSC has to make the scores public.
“The JSC should reveal the individual scores of each and every candidate who was interviewed for us to know they faired,” he said.
Meanwhile, the MP supported the nomination of Justice David Maraga as the next Chief Justice.
The Homabay MP described Maraga as an outstanding person who has the potential transform the Judiciary.
He, however, said that Parliament will thoroughly grill the nominee when he appears before it for vetting.
Maraga, 64 was nominated by the JSC as the next Chief Justice beating other 11 candidates who were interviewed for the post.
His name will be presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta who will later forward it to the National Assembly for vetting.
