Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has launched an online portal to provide investors with a one-stop-shop for sector data.
The centralized business portal will provide industry stakeholders and potential investors with information on the economic and legal environment, industrial and trade statistics relevant to the manufacturing sector and its sub-sectors.
Principal Secretary for ICT Victor Kyalo said the move intended to grow the sector will bank on the transformation to help the country move towards a knowledge and information-based economy.
“The development of a large-scale telecommunications infrastructure in Kenya, capable of delivering efficient and affordable info-communications services is recognized as a critical prerequisite for the country’s economic growth,” he said during the launch of the portal.
Flora Mutahi, the KAM Chairperson held the portal will offer stakeholders with the essential figures needed to map out areas of asset and probable sectors for industries to venture into.
Figures on an economic and legal setting, manufacturing and trade significant to the sector will also be available on the portal.
