Kamagambo Adventist Teachers Training College, a Seventh-day Adventist Church-run institution has warned its teacher trainees and tutors against engaging in examination malpractices that could taint the college's integrity.
College principal, George Oromo has disclosed that the institution which was founded in 1912, embraces examination integrity and holistic training of primary school teachers.
Speaking during the college's 88th graduation ceremony on Monday evening at the college's graduation square, the Principal reiterated that since its inception no candidate has ever scored a distinction in a subject or final examination since there is no room for cheating or any examination malpractice among the college students.
"As a college administration we do not allow examination cheating and other malpractices in the Institution, the reason why we have never had a single candidate scoring a distinction in an examination conducted locally or by the Kenya National Examination Council," disclosed Oromo.
Oromo disclosed that over 20,000 graduates have passed through the College since its inception and quality training has been the driving force in the institution which has transformed itself into a centre of excellence in teacher training not only in the western Kenya region but also in the country.
His sentiments were shared by the Director of Education West Kenya Union Conference, Martin Akoto who warned all SDA-church sponsored institutions against engaging in examination malpractices.
Akoto clarified that the SDA church does not condone nor support the culture of examination cheating in its institutions as it erodes the image and integrity of the church's values pertaining its contribution to quality education in the country.
