Kamar call for investigations for 2017 KCSE

Uasin Gishu senator prof Margaret Kamar has called for the investigations of the just-released KCSE to know if the results were real or not.

She said its abnormal for over 50 percent of students who sat for the 2017 KCSE to get D and below.

“We have confidence with the Minister of Education Fred Matiangi but we are not happy with the way our students have performed. How can 50 percent of students get D’s and below, there is something wrong somewhere and needs to be addressed before things get out of hand,” she said in Eldoret town, Friday.

“I call upon the National Assembly and the Senate to interrogate the Kenya National Examination Council for them to explain how the marking was done since there was the transition from manual to digital and there might be errors,” she added.

She, however, advised those who got D and below to pursue their education by starting with Certificate.

“This is not the end of life they should enroll in the various course and start at certificate level, they will move gradually and at the end, they will find themselves in universities,” noted Kamar.
