Elgeyo Marakwet CeC nominee Isaac Kamar (Finance) has spoken on his relationship with Governor Alex Tolgos.Keter told a 10-member select committee on Friday that he and Tolgos are just friends."Being a Christian, I will not lie to you. Tolgos is my friend. I have known him since 2000 when he was a student at University of University and I was at Kenyatta University," Kamar said.If appointed, Kamar told the committee led by Speaker Philemon Sabulei, that his friendship with the Elgeyo Marakwet governor will neither affect his work nor lead to a conflict of interest in the committee."I wish to state that my friendship with the governor will not lead to a conflict of interest. I will serve all residents fairly," he added.The committee grilled four other CeC nominees were while five are expected to appear before them on Monday.Tolgos sacked seven executives who served in his first term and retained only two.Sabulei assured the vetting will be conducted professionally noting they will not be influenced by politicians.
