Uasin Gishu County Senate elect Prof Margaret Kamar has promised to help review the current county resource allocation for them to receive more funds.

She said the current allocation marginalizes some counties.

“I will sponsor a bill in the senate that will ensure County governments get more funds for development to be accelerated,” she said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.

“Every part of the nation should have a fair share of the national cake without discrimination,” she added.

She urged senators and governors to work together instead of engaging in political fist fights every now and then.

“Under my leadership I will ensure that there is good working relationship between governors and Senators and also play my oversight roles to the latter,” noted Kamar.

She called upon women to seek leadership roles in counties in a bid to actively fight for issues better understood by women.

“We need women to champion health issues, as they are the most affected when their children get sick as well as reproductive health, gender equality issues, and children affairs, among other issues,” she urged.
