The call was made by Mwingi Central deputy county commissioner Omar Dima on Wednesday.

Speaking in Mwingi town, Dima appealed to the two leaders to respect each other and shun divisive politics for the sake of the region's development.

“Politicking won't get you anywhere, it won't benefit our people either. It's time for elected leaders to fulfill their campaign promises," Dima said.

Scores of angry supporters allied to Ngilu on Tuesday barricaded the busy Mwingi-Garissa Highway.

They protested Mulyungi’s expletives against the Governor.

The irate Ngilu's supporters demanded public retraction in connection with the MP’s remarks on Saturday against the governor which besmirched her character and personality.

Speaking during the peaceful protest, the protestors said Mulyungi's narrow view of the governor was formed from an egoistic male chauvinism lenses.

This comes days after Mulyungi called Ngilu a chameleon and pretender for claiming to back up the wiper party leader.
