Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze is a worried man after supporting Jubilee. Apart from his competitors, Kitui elders want his nomination certificate withdrawn terming him a traitor who do not deserve the Wiper ticket to defend his position.
‘Atumi ma Thome’ group of elders want the legislature to vacate Wiper for his disrespect of party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. They said that the legislature is a disgrace to the Akamba and an obstacle in the way of Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid. They urged locals to support NASA’s Raila Odinga and ignore Nyenze’s ‘confusion’. The group’s chairman Michael Musila said that Nyenze violated the law.
“As he speaks, he has a Wiper nomination ticket for the parliamentary seat. The Political Parties Act does not allow him to support or to appear to support any other political party. It is an offense,” Musila said as quoted by the Star.
Other elders led by Wisman Ngovi said that the utterance proved that Nyenze was no longer a Wiper member. They accused him of betraying the community.
“This is contrary to the wishes of the Kamba community which is fully behind NASA. Nyenze is expected to be in the forefront of Wiper campaigns, having been sponsored to seek re-election. But he has chosen to betray his party," Ngovi said as reported by the paper.
