Pressure continues to mount on the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) to name Kalonzo Musyoka as the coalition's flag bearer ahead of the 2017 general elections.

Speaking in Yatta constituency in Machakos, Chama Cha Uzalendo party leader Wavinya Ndeti urged the two Cord co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula to step aside and support Kalonzo to become Kenya's 5th president.

Ms Wavinya said if Cord will not pave way for Kalonzo as the flag bearer, they will not support any other candidate in Cord.

She insisted that it was time the Kamba community came together to support one of their own.

She lamented that the community has been getting what she termed as a raw deal from successive governments and that time was ripe for the region to climb to power with Musyoka their best bet.

Her sentiments come barely a week after Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko said he would support Cord if Kalonzo would be the flag bearer for the coalition.
