A section of leaders from Ukambani have rubbished speculations that Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has intentions to walk away from the National Super Alliance (NASA) ahead of the next general polls.

The remarks of the leaders come a day after Kalonzo downplayed claims that he has plans to go solo in the forthcoming general election.

Led by Senators Johstone Muthama (Machakos), Mutula Kilonzo Jrn (Makueni), Peoples Trust Party (PTP) leader Mutua Katuku and MP Dan Maanzo (Makueni), the leaders have said that the former vice President will stay in NASA.

"Kalonzo is not under any pressure to leave NASA and he will not. The propaganda is being fueled by our competitors to cause mistrust among Principals. My party leader has stated severally that he is in NASA to stay. We are holding him to his word," said Senator Mutula Jrn, quoted by Standard.

Both the opposition and Jubilee have been very keen on Kalonzo political moves. According to analysts, Kalonzo defection from NASA will be a plus for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

Opposition politicians under the leadership of Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula have also insisted that the only way to dethrone Jubilee from power is remaining united to the end.
