[Photo: Courtesy]Former Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi has attacked Kilifi governor Jeffah Kingi, accusing him of derailing development.Kambi who was sacked over alleged involvement in corruption in the Jubilee government, seeks to unseat Kingi, an ODM (Opposition, Nasa) governor who is seeking a re-election in the August 8 polls. He accused the governor of fleecing the county government's development projects funds, leaving residents in poverty.Speaking Saturday, Kambi demanded to know how Kingi has been using and allocating the county budget and public funds, citing anger and drought that Kilifi residents have been facing."Do you have food? No you don't. Do you have access to water? A lot of money was allocated for this but we do not know where it was taken. The governor must explain and account for every shilling allocated for this. He is asking for re-election yet he's unable to provide good leadership," Kambi said as he addressed residents, during his campaign tour.He further dismissed claims that he was being fronted by the Jubilee government to frustrate Kingi's government and re-election bid.
