Kamenu ward MCA Madam Mary Hussein has hailed the police and Thika rescue services for responding with speed to the tragedy that left scores injured in her area last night
Speaking from her office in Kamenu today the MCA said that the police have to be congratulated for the nice work in responding to the victims of the collapsed building and delivering their services promptly
She said that the police have always been seen as the cause of more deaths as they secure the area of the incident and block the rescuers from doing their work but the police themselves never secured the area until they made sure that all the victims had been rescued
She said that it a great achievement when a building collapses and no one is deceased in the accident she said that police and other rescue services have learnt to do their work ,despite the Garrissa operation that took the police 8 hours to rescue the hostages
She revealed that the contractor of the building and the owners have already been identified and have been urged to record a statement with the police
She also said that she visited the victims of the tragedy and most of them have already been discharged while others are still receiving medical care but their state is stable.
