Uasin Gishu Kikuyu spokesman Kamunu wa Kabari has cried foul over increased sale and intake of illegal alcohol among the youth.
He said this is uncalled for and called for immediate intervention to end this stalemate.
"It's sad that the sale of the illegal liquor is ongoing thus putting the lives of our children in danger. Why is the county government allowing the sale of this illegal liquor to continue? We cannot stay mum yet the future of our children is being destroyed," he said in Eldoret town, Thursday.
"I call upon both the County and National governments to intensify their crackdown especially in wines and spirits joints which most youths spend their time," he added.
However, Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the sale and intake of illegal alcohol is a thing of the past.
“We will not allow Uasin Gishu to be a drinking county and anyone who will be found consuming or selling illicit liquor will face the full force of the law," noted Hassan.
