Police are currently in pursuit of a man after he allegedly killed a women in Kangema on Saturday.
According to reports, the accused, Peter Njuguna, murdered Susan Wangari at Mithanga village in Kangema sub-county after a five year relationship.
Cosmas Wachang'oka, who is the Kangema OCPD says Njuguna has been on the run ever since he murdered Wangari but law enforcement are in hot pursuit.
Reports have also revealed that Njuguna's wife had died eight years before.
“We will charge him with murder once we arrest him," he said, as reported by The Star.
Wangari's cousin, Mary Njambi, says Wangari was hacked to death but its still unclear what could have led to her being killed.
“Wangari’s daughter told us the suspect had been a frequent visitor to their home and that he stabbed her mother repeatedly as she watched," he cousin said.
According to Wangari's daughter, her mom was accused of having an affair with another man.
Wangari is expected to be buried on Friday.
