A suspected thief was beaten to death and later set ablaze on Sunday morning in Katanga area, Kangundo sub-county, Machakos county.
Confirming the incident, Maiyuni Sub location sub-chief Consolata David said that by the time she arrived at the scene the suspect had already died.
She vehemently condemned the mobjustice done to the suspect citing that every suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
She decried that cases of thieves being killed by mob have been increasing in the area.
"Mob justice is not justice at all, every suspect should be tried in a court, we should learn to hand over suspects to the police and let them do their work," said David.
This incident comes a day after another man was beaten to death in Kithyumuoni area, Kangundo, whereby he was suspected to be behind the attacks held on Wednesday night.
