Kangundo residents have reasons to smile after the area MP Fabian Muli embarked on a mission to ensure that they get electricity connected to their homes at no cost.
The lawmaker has started lobbying for the connection as he seeks to transform the lives of the residents following his victory in the August General elections.
Residents will now not be required to part with any cash in order to get electricity connected to their homes following the new measures.
The lawmaker has also sourced for 40 transformers to be installed across the sub-county.
His technical team and officers from Kenya power inspected the constituency ahead of the project that is expected to improve the living standards of the residents.
Over 300 homesteads in Ikulu, Kanzalu , and Kamutonga are expected to benefit from the new project upon completion.
The engineers from Kenya power will today tour the East Ward and West Ward before the project kicks off.
The lawmaker had pledged to connected 90 % of the homes to electricity in the first phase of the project.
Over 400 homesteads in Kangundo West will also get electricity while 196 homes in Kangundo Central Kanzokea village have been lined up for the project.
