Residents of Kangundo Sub-county have been urged to come out in large numbers and register as voters.
While addressing the press at his offices in Kangundo constituency, IEBC chairman Fidelis Kitili pointed out that the constituency had a population of approximately 218,557 but only 25,916 had registered as voters, something which he said was alarming.
"It is sad to see people not register. The constituency has a population of approximately 218,557 but only 25,916 have registered as voters. This is very alarming to say the least," he said.
Mr Kitili also pleaded with the youth who go to pick their national identification cards to be passing through his office which is adjacent to that issuing the cards so as to register as voters.
He further reached out to political and religious leaders to educate and encourage people to register as voters.
