Construction of feeder roads within Kangundo town has kicked off.
For long Kangundo traders lamented over the areas poor roads which they claim has been hindering transportation of goods in the area.
Speaking on Tuesday while addressing traders, business owners and road users in Kangundo town, the town administrator Ann Masai confirmed the roads construction process had began.
“The road construction will cover from Akamba to Kangundo bus station and up to the Kangundo District hospital feeder roads. The roads construction budget has already been allocated and we are assured the roads will be constructed and completed in a while,” said Masai.
The town administrator further called upon the residents to intervene when help needed during the construction.
This follows a transport menace currently being experienced within Kangundo town, as the vehicles entering into the town use the same road as those exiting the town.
Speaking after the meeting David Katua, a Matatu operator who uses the road everyday said that the project will ease transportation in the area.
“There is usually heavy traffic while entering and exiting the town with the same entrance due to the roads poor condition; this will now save time,” said Katua.
