The construction is set to start in early September, once the county government releases the Sh30 million for the stadium.

Currently, the stadium is in a bad state and will reportedly be modernised.

Residents claim that Kabogo had said that they would have to relocate to create more space for the stadium.

However, the late George Muchai, the then MP assured them that the stadium would not interfere with their homes.

Mary Nyambura, a resident of the slums said that most of them have been born and raised there and telling them to relocate would be a great hit to their lives.

Another resident, John Kahura, said that most of them cannot afford to buy land and the county government should relocate them if they have to move.

Area chief, Kihanya Gitau said that the residents would be informed if such an action will be taken. He advised residents to remain calm and wait for further directions.
