Baringo County Senator Gideon Moi has come out clear that Kenya African National Union (KANU) party has joined the Coalition of Reforms and Democracy (Cord).
Moi says they only worked with Cord because they had a similar agenda of sending IEBC home over credibility concerns.
He says they were not happy following the alleged rigging of Kericho Senatorial by-election something that they would see in the 2017 general elections if the commission was not disbanded.
He said he pushed for the disbandment of IEBC to save the country from a repeat of what happened in the 2007-2008 post-election violence.
“We don’t want to see what happened in 2007-2008 post-election violence and that is the reason we worked with Cord to ensure a credible electoral body that is not biased,” said Moi.
He added that KANU still honors the pre-election agreement that was signed with Jubilee in 2013.
He called upon Jubilee government to bring in more development projects now and not waiting until Ruto’s turn in 2022.
Baringo County is a Jubilee stronghold something that would see the Senator lose popularity if he joined Cord.
