Kanu leaders have given tough conditions that must be met by Jubilee for them to continue supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.
The leaders have asked Deputy President William Ruto to stop his onslaught on Rift Valley politicians who support the president's reelection bid.
Led by party chairman Gideon Moi, Secretary General Nick Salat and Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, Kanu accused Ruto of provoking them for no reason every time he is in the region and said that this must stop.
The leaders have now threatened to withdraw Uhuru's support in case the president does not tame his deputy.
Also present at the rally were Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto, Narok woman representative aspirant Lydia Masikonte and Narok West MP Patrick Ntutu.
“We have called a meeting with the President to discuss the issue because it is discouraging to see elected leaders being insulted by some leaders from the Jubilee side,” Baringo senator Gideon Moi said.
Salat gave Jubilee a one-week ultimatum to either tame Ruto or Kanu supports the opposition.
“For Jubilee to win the elections in August, they need our support, and if they are tired with our support, we can as well support other parties,” he said.
“We are tired of insults and dictatorship from the DP and he should stop day dreaming of becoming President in 2022 because we have already settled on Gideon Moi who is able to change this country,” the leaders said.
