Among them is the former ruling party,  Kanu which officially joined the race on Monday.

The party’s secretary general Nick Salat joined Cord co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Raila Odinga and their supporters in a peaceful demonstration to the IEBC's offices in Nairobi.

Salat also promised to mobilise Kanu supporters to join the protests saying the IEBC commissioners can no longer be trusted.

Cord on the other hand has vowed not to relent, maintaining that it will continue holding the protests until the commissioners leave office.

In March, Kanu accused the IEBC of working with Jubilee to ensure it won the Kericho by-election.

At the time, chairman Gideon Moi also said IEBC was favouring Jubilee and could do anything to  ensure it wins the elections.

On his part cord leader Raila Odinga claims Jubilee has promised the IEBC commissioners state jobs after the 2017 elections.

Both Jubilee and the IEBC have since dismissed Raila's allegations.
