KANU party leaders have accused President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving them a raw deal in Cabinet appointments.

The leaders led by John Ngunjiri, the party’s Nakuru County branch chairman urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to consider the party members in the remaining appointments.

“KANU party supported Uhuru and his deputy during the last year’s elections. Uhuru promised to consider the party members when he will be naming Cabinet but he has not fulfilled that. We are appealing to him to consider giving the remaining slots to KANU as a sign of appreciation,” he said.

He said the party leader who is also Baringo senator Gideon Moi should come out clear and declare his position ahead of 2022 presidential race.

“We are ready to take over the country’s leadership after Uhuru finishes his term but our party leader should declare his position so that we start laying down strategies ahead of the 2022 elections,” he added.

The announcement comes barely two weeks after the Head of State unveiled his full cabinet where he retained ten and appointed nine new CSs.

The President also created the position of Chief Administrative Secretary would broadly be responsible for helping the Cabinet Secretary to better coordinate the running of the affairs of their respective ministries.
