A section of the Kenya African National Union (KANU) leaders in the North Rift region have come out guns blazing against the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba following his claims that Baringo Senator Gideon Moi was blocking some leaders from visiting the retired President Daniel Moi.
Led by Elgeyo Marakwet KANU chairman Paul Kibet, the leader have asked Murkomen to follow the right procedure if he wants to visit Mzee Moi instead of engaging in propaganda.
Addressing the press in Eldoret town on Tuesday, the KANU leaders from Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet further warned Murkomen against disrespecting Senator Moi.
“Gideon is a leader for all and has steered KANU in the right way and deserves respect same to the retired President Daniel Moi. Those seeking to see Mzee should follow the right channel and stop dragging other people’s name if they fail to get clearance to visit Kabarak,” said Kibet.
“We want to tell Murkomen to go slow, those who went fast in this political game never succeeded,” he added.
Speaking at Moiben during the homecoming of the International Trade Principle Secretary Dr. Chris Kiptoo that was also attended by Deputy President William Ruto, Murkomen accused Senator Moi of only allowing leaders allied to him to see his father, the former head of state Mzee Daniel Moi.
Murkomen who is also the Senate majority leader had also requested Moiben MP Silas Tiren who has with NASA chief Raila Odinga at Kabarack to help him get an appointment to visit Mzee Moi.
Tiren, however, dismissed the request saying Murkomen was in a far much better position to get an opportunity to visit the retired President compared to him based on the position he holds in the Senate.
