The members of KANU in Kiambu county have all supported the party leadership decision to have their own presidential candidate in the upcoming 2017 elections. Sakina Karanja who is the County Chairman said, yesterday, that it was very wise to revive the party as it was the only one in the country that has supporters in all corners of Kenya. Speaking while in his office in limuru town yesterday, Sakina said that he strongly supported the move by Gideone Moi to decline joining JAP. "This is the right time for Gideone Moi to reorganise the party as he prepares for the 2017 elections. We as members of Kiambu County fully support him to vie for the presidency," he proceeded to say. Sakina went ahead and urged Gideone Moi to ensure that he fast track the party's recruitment process which he launched last friday. "Many people are willing to join the party and we are now urging our leader to fast track the recruitment of members in the whole country," Sakina said. Sakina went ahead and said that they did not need to join JAP since it was a new party . "KANU has been there and has ruled this country for very many years. JAP has not ruled this country and it should first seek advise from KANU," Sakina concluded with.
