A section of Kanu officials from Nakuru County have quashed a decision made by the party’s national secretary general Nick Salat to join the opposition Cord in their anti-IEBC protests.
Led by Muthee Ngunjiri, the officials said for all it means, Kanu is bound by a pact they have with Jubilee to work together.
Speaking in Nakuru on Friday, Ngunjiri said they were not consulted over the decision and as such, they will not support Salat in his clamour to join the opposition.
“Kanu is bound by a pact we have with Jubilee to work together and what Salat did was wrong because he did not consult us and we will not support his endeavour to join the Opposition and help them fight the government,” he said.
He spoke at a time when all eyes have been turned to the opposition as well as Kanu due to a pronouncement that they would demonstrate during Madaraka Day slated to be held at Afraha stadium in Nakuru on June 1.
Ngunjiri bashed at Salat telling him that the former ruling party is not a one-man party but all inclusive and all stakeholders must be consulted when making such decisions.
